Chapter 2146 The Village Chief Disappears
Chapter 2146 The Village Chief Disappears
"Thank you so much, brother! You're such a kind person!" The village chief said gratefully as he followed the man out of the station.
The two ran out of the station. The village chief looked around and saw that there were people everywhere, but he couldn't see the old lady.
"She looks like she ran that way! Quick, after her!"
The village chief followed the man, completely unaware that the number of people around him was decreasing, and the place was becoming more and more remote until they soon entered a dead end...
An hour later, someone found an unwanted little boy on the street and immediately took him to the police station.
Xiao Xie stared blankly at the child who had been brought in. "Isn't this Da Long?" Wasn't he taken away by the village chief? How could he be abandoned on the street? Did the village chief say he would treat his brother's child as his own, but then turn around and abandon the child?
While imprisoned in a cell with nothing to do, Zhang Ran simply lay down on the bed for a nap, only to be taken out for interrogation again.
Zhang Ran sat in the interrogation chair, while Captain Lu stood in front of her, slamming his hand on the table. "The village chief of Stone Village has disappeared!"
Zhang Ran looked at her like she was being unreasonable. "Don't even mention disappearing, what does it have to do with me if you were dead?"
With a grim face, Captain Lu presented evidence: "According to our investigation, he took his child to the train station to go back to his hometown. He was first approached by an old woman who then took the child away while he was in the restroom."
"When he came back from the restroom, he found that his child and luggage were gone. He had been tricked out of the station by a strange man and disappeared in a place where the surveillance cameras could not capture him."
"The old lady and the man are clearly in cahoots; this is a gang crime!"
"He's been being watched from the very beginning!"
"So what if it's a gang crime?" Zhang Ran said with a shameless, "It proves that the security situation in the capital is bad, and that you've failed in your duties."
boom!
Enraged, Captain Lu slammed his body onto the table in front of Zhang Ran.
"Captain Lu!!" Xiao Xie rushed over immediately.
Zhang Ran was startled and quickly stood up: "Is this a staged accident?" She took two steps back and watched as Xiao Xie and the others took the person to the ground and gave them first aid.
Once Captain Lu regained consciousness, Xiao Xie quickly carried him to the infirmary.
With a bang, the interrogation room door slammed shut.
Zhang Ran walked back to her original seat and sat down, resting her chin on her hand as she looked at the wooden tabletop that had been smashed by Captain Lu, leaving several cracks.
These police officers have barely rested for days and nights while investigating the case. If Captain Lu were to die suddenly, her life would definitely be blamed on her.
More than half an hour later, the interrogation room door opened again.
Zhang Ran looked up and saw that it was Xiao Xie who came in. Judging from his expression, she guessed, "It seems that he is alright." If Captain Lu were dead, Xiao Xie wouldn't be so calm. His colleagues who were close to Captain Lu would have rushed in to cause trouble for her.
"You're disappointed that no one was hurt?" Xiao Xie asked, staring at her expression.
The doctor explained that Captain Lu hadn't rested much for almost half a month, was under too much pressure, had irregular eating habits, and was too emotionally agitated, which caused him to faint. Fortunately, he was fine and would recover after a few days of rest.
But Captain Lu refused to rest and warned them not to tell the director about it, fearing that the director would approve his leave to go home and rest instead of letting him continue investigating Zhang Ran's case.
Zhang Ran raised an eyebrow and retorted, "If he dies, then it's just a staged accident."
Xiao Xie: "..." The police officer was so angry at the suspect that he was about to faint. It would be too embarrassing to tell anyone. No wonder Captain Lu didn't allow this to be spread. But everyone saw him carrying the suspect to the doctor... Forget it, I'd better not tell him.
