Chapter 4701 X Royal Clash (7)

Chapter 4701 X Royal Family: Fierce Battle (Part 7)

"Mr. Stark, Mr. Stark!"

When Stark opened his eyes, he saw a red figure flashing in front of him. Startled, he jumped back, and after recognizing Spider-Man, he sighed and complained, "Peter, what are you doing!"

“Uh, sorry sir, I’m not Peter from your universe, I’m from this universe.” Spider-Man pointed to the ground.

“Alright, that’s not important. You’re all my good Peters.” Stark sat up, took off his nightcap, tidied his hair, and then said, “How did you get here?”

“The Spider-Man from the main universe brought me here,” the local Spider-Man said.

"The mutants agree too?"

“They wouldn’t normally allow Avengers members into Clarkia, but they let him through as soon as they heard it was Spider-Man,” the local Spider-Man said. “I’ve come to you to discuss something.”

“What is it?” Stark asked.

"About the Red Gate Orchid factory." The local Spider-Man paused, seemingly a little embarrassed, and said, "I don't think this factory is suitable for anyone except you."

“Me?” Stark asked, puzzled. “What would I need that factory for?”

"Of course, I know that the technology level of the central universe is very high, and you don't need the factory's technology. But if it falls into the wrong hands, it could really trigger a world war. Only if you get the factory will they not dare to act rashly."

Spider-Man gestured to explain, and Stark understood what he meant. He had shown up on Earth, demonstrating unparalleled technological prowess, significantly surpassing everyone on Earth and in the main universe, enough to defeat both sides effortlessly. Taking over the factory would indeed bring about temporary peace between the two sides.

Stark shook his head and said, "I won't do that."

"Why?" the local Spider-Man asked, somewhat puzzled. "You're here to help, right? If we take over the factory, our Earth, the Avengers in the main universe, and the mutants won't be fighting anymore."

“You’re too naive, Peter. Sit down, let’s talk this out.” Stark gestured to the chair beside him, then said, “Have you eaten?”

"Not yet," the local Spider-Man shook his head and said, "I came early this morning, I was afraid something might happen if I was late."

Stark glanced at his watch; it wasn't breakfast time yet. So he said to the local Spider-Man, "Let's go to the cafeteria and chat while we eat."

The local Spider-Man didn't refuse, and the two went out together. Clarkia was beautiful, and the local Spider-Man kept taking pictures with his phone. Several mutants saw him taking pictures and tried to stop him, but when they saw it was Spider-Man, they gave up and pretended not to see him.

“The mutants trust you quite a bit,” Stark said, “even though you two are enemies now.”

“I’m not an enemy of mutants,” Spider-Man said. “I’ve never discriminated against mutants, and I’ve even helped the X-Men. I support their plan to establish a nation. One of my main purposes in coming here is to buy a Clare Flower to take back to Aunt May.”

Stark nodded and said, "Indeed, Spider-Man doesn't make enemies of anyone, and everyone trusts you."

The local Spider-Man smiled at him.

The two went to a restaurant and each ordered a meal. Stark said while drinking his coffee, "You think that as long as I'm strong enough, no one will dare to question me after I get the factory, but in reality, this is still solving problems with power. It seems like we've achieved superficial peace, but it's only temporary."

“I can’t stay in your universe forever; I’ll have to go back eventually. When I leave, no matter who I hand this over to, it will cause controversy, and there might even be a war to fight.”

"Can't you just set it to automatic mode?"

“Have you ever seen a machine set to automatic mode that doesn’t rebel?” Stark was clearly well aware of their side’s character. “The current Nimrod-class Sentinels may only target mutants, but if the machines rebel, they might have to fight the Earth as well.”

The local Spider-Man sighed, then thought for a moment and said, "Could we take this thing with us? Take it to your universe?"

“It’s too large,” Stark said. “I don’t deny that I have the technology for transmitting information, but it depends on the scale. I simply cannot transmit this kind of planetary-level equipment, and it would be dangerous to start it up rashly.”

Seeing the local Spider-Man's frustration, Stark continued, "We don't solve problems with brute force because brute force can't solve fundamental problems. What do you think is the fundamental problem in this matter?"

The local Spider-Man looked at him, waiting for him to continue. Stark had no choice but to continue: "There are irreconcilable conflicts between the Earth government, the Avengers, and mutants. They have almost no common interests and are full of competition. This situation cannot last."

"Is war the only solution?" the local Spider-Man asked, unwilling to accept the situation. "Does peace only come from fighting a war and wiping out several factions?"

Stark shook his head and said, "War can't solve the fundamental problem. It just means that after one battle, everyone is too exhausted to fight anymore. It's not a reconciliation, but a quieting down."

"So what exactly should be done? How did the central universe achieve this?"

“That’s a long story,” Stark said.

Just then, a figure sat down at the bar. Stark turned around and saw it was Schiller, so he said to Spider-Man, "Here's the solution."

“Oh, Doctor.” The local Spider-Man had obviously seen Schiller before. He said, “Is the medical record finished? I saw you filling it out when I was running errands for you earlier…”

“Not yet.” Schiller sighed, ordered a glass of juice and drank it, then said, “The mutants are already preparing the incubation plan for the Clarkia Totem, I have to go there later.”

“Mr. Stark said you have a way to solve the problems of our universe.” Spider-Man looked at Stark.

“What I mean is, he is the solution itself,” Stark explained, “but it’s best not to use it in your universe.”

The local Spider-Man was a little confused; he hadn't been to the Fighting World often and hadn't heard of Schiller's famous name. Stark continued, "But don't worry too much, Schiller will always find a way."

Not getting the answer he wanted, the local Spider-Man was a little frustrated, but he knew he couldn't force it. After he left, Stark asked Schiller, "How's that mutant resurrection plan going?"

"It's almost done," Schiller nodded. "Would you like to go take a look?"

“No, I’d rather not.” Stark thought for a moment and said, “I need to study the information Dr. Gregor provided, focusing on technologies that might come from extraterrestrial civilizations. They might come in handy later.”

After breakfast, Stark went to the antigravity lab, while Schiller headed to the Krakia Totem. It was a colossal totem that looked incredibly majestic, hidden in a lush forest, its features resembling those of a kind old man.

As Sebastian described at the United Nations General Assembly, the entire island of Clarkia is alive, and although they may not be mutants, they are indeed some kind of intelligent life form with sentience.

The key reason humans cannot control the island is that they cannot communicate with the Clarkia Totem, but mutants can. This is because one of the mutants is called "Decoder," who can understand any language in the world, including the extremely ancient language spoken by the Clarkia Totem.

Through decoding and communication with the Clarkia totem, the mutants successfully gained acceptance of the totem's activities on it, allowing them to completely take over the island. Other life forms that did not obtain the totem's permission found it difficult to remain on the island for long.

The Totem Resurrection Project also relies on the Clarkia Totem. It requires injecting the mutant genes preserved from Mister Sinister into the Clarkia Totem to hatch a mindless body, and then stuffing its consciousness into it.

The process seems simple, but it's actually quite difficult to implement. Just the gene injection alone required extensive communication between the codebreakers and Moira with the totem. They had to ensure the totem understood they wanted a person, not some tree or vine. Secondly, the hatched body had to possess the X gene, retaining their mutant abilities, and finally, the body and soul had to be combined. In short, after a long period of research, they've only barely managed to complete it.

When Schiller arrived, Professor X, Magneto, Moira, and Dr. Gregor were already there. Dr. Gregor took out something that looked a bit like a hard drive, but it was hexagonal and made of crystal. She handed it over and said, "This is the shimmering chip I mentioned, which can be used to transfer consciousness. However, a person's consciousness can only be made into one shimmering chip; it cannot be backed up, but consciousness can be transferred between different shimmering chips."

“Earlier today, when I touched this empty flash, I discovered it automatically connected to another flash, which contained my husband’s consciousness. I’ve now transferred him into this one. Take a look, Professor.”

Dr. Gregor was clearly eager to see her husband, but she didn't say so explicitly. Professor X took the glitter, and as soon as he held it in his hand, he felt that it didn't seem to be made of earthly material, but he didn't say anything more and began to cover it with his brainwaves.

The ordeal lasted much longer than expected, so long that Dr. Gregor's expression grew increasingly grim. Seeing Professor X's increasingly serious face, Magneto knew something was probably wrong.

"Let's talk in my mental realm." Professor X directly pulled their brainwaves into his mental domain. Magneto knew very well that Professor X wouldn't have done this unless the situation was extremely serious.

Upon entering the spiritual realm, Dr. Gregor saw her husband and rushed over to embrace him. Dr. Mendel also embraced her, but he was clearly very haggard.

"What's wrong, Ira? Is there something wrong with your spirit?"

Dr. Mendel closed his eyes tightly and said sadly, "It was the mutants who saved me."

"What?!" Dr. Gregor was somewhat confused. "A mutant? But aren't you in the Redgate Plant's system..."

"The consciousness of those dead mutants was also uploaded into the Redgate Orchid factory's system. We were all being hunted down by the Mother Model's security system. They were the ones who sent me back into the flash.

"What?!" Magneto exclaimed in shock, "The consciousness of a mutant?"

“That’s right, it’s that raiding squad,” Dr. Mendel said. “The leader is called Scott, there’s another one with claws on his hands who says his name is Logan, and there’s also a woman who can use fire…”

"It really is them!" Magneto excitedly grabbed Dr. Mendel's arm. "How are they?"

"They've been relentlessly hunted by the mother model's security system!" Dr. Mendel repeated, raising his voice. "Like a virus being hunted by a computer firewall. We have to rescue them!"
