Chapter 4681 The Demise of the X Royal Family (2)

Chapter 4681 The X Royal Family: Demise (Part Two)
Schiller pursed his lips; this was certainly not good news. Actually, the mutants in the X-Royal universe were among the more reasonable groups in various mutant comics. Upon hearing about the establishment of a nation, they basically put aside their current affairs and past grievances, united as one, and ultimately succeeded.
But perhaps because they are more normal than mutants in other universes, Professor X's vision is even grander. He even disregarded the fact that his own universe's cause was at a critical juncture and resolutely joined the multiverse war, only to face the worst possible outcome—this severely disrupted their original plan, causing what could have been a successful raid to completely fail.
As the one making the decision, Professor X faced unimaginable pressure. This not only led to the deaths of eight skilled fighters like Phoenix and Wolverine, but also rendered the mutants completely unable to handle the Mother Model.
This failure could very well lead to a series of catastrophic consequences, even completely overturning the storyline of this universe. If that were to happen, no one would dare to participate in multiverse activities in the future, because the price would be far too high.
“We must go to provide support immediately,” Schiller said, “and we must carry out a saturation rescue, the faster the better.”
"Is that what you think?" Charles asked.
Schiller, somewhat surprised, said, "Isn't this the reason you summoned us here?"
Charles shook his head and said, "I am indeed very anxious and have decided to support them. But on the contrary, we cannot send too many people over because the Avengers in the main universe have already been accused of cosmic interventionism..."
Schiller slapped his forehead; how could he have forgotten about this? Actually, it wasn't a big deal. It's just that with everyone in the multiverse connected online, disagreements are inevitable. And some Marvel characters are actually far more outrageous than their DC counterparts.
Leaving aside characters like Doom and Reed, Tony Stark alone is a heavyweight. Especially considering many Iron Man characters in the comic book universes, even after shedding their playboy personas and becoming superheroes, they still have a host of flaws. The most problematic of these is that Iron Man is an interventionist.
So-called interventionists are those who feel obligated to intervene and change the current situation. This inevitably leads to them appearing somewhat meddlesome when speaking or acting in the multiverse.
Especially the Avengers in the main universe, after realizing the special status of the main universe, they interfered without any scruples. They would take a stroll in this universe today, patrol that universe tomorrow, always finding something to do for themselves.
Of course, in some universes they did help, which earned them a loyal following. But on many other occasions, they were simply a nuisance, clashing with local superhero groups several times and resulting in a very poor reputation.
The prevailing opinion across the multiverse now leans towards opposing this interventionism. Under this media pressure, the main universe has finally halted its frequent outings and assured everyone that they will not interfere unless requested for help.
This matter appears to have been resolved peacefully, but the crucial point is that the X Royal Family universe actually requested assistance. It's likely the main universe is already preparing to head there.
Only then did Schiller understand what Charles was worried about. The main universe was indeed very kind, but this new 616 main universe was too young. Since the beginning of the All-New All-Different universe, there hadn't been many major events, and the heroes were still very young, which made them somewhat inexperienced in dealing with people.
It's fine when dealing with troubles that can be resolved with fists, but when it comes to very complex struggles, it's just adding to the chaos and could even push things to an irreparable state.
Therefore, Charles's anxiety isn't actually about the situation in that particular universe, but rather about the fact that the superheroes from the main universe will make things even worse after they arrive. This will inevitably provoke resistance from most universes and could even trigger a major event on a multiverse level.
Even if it doesn't escalate into violent conflict, it could still cause the multiverse to become more closed off rather than communicative. After all, given past experiences, no one would dare to ask the multiverse for help again, and they might even stop communicating with other universes altogether, to avoid getting involved in the conflict.
In that case, their multiverse human alliance plan has completely fallen through. Forget about an alliance; it would be a miracle if the multiverses didn't start fighting each other.
Schiller frowned deeply. After thinking for a moment, he said, "In any case, let's rush to the mutants' aid first."
“But if the main universe goes too, we’ll probably have to fight them. I’m really afraid it will make things even more chaotic.” Charles’s brows furrowed so deeply they could kill a fly. “Establishing a nation is not a simple matter at all. Even though we’ve left Earth and even ruled the entire Andromeda Galaxy, it still took a lot of effort to gain a legitimate seat on Earth. You should know the hardships involved better than I do.”
Schiller nodded. Don't be fooled by the speed at which these mutant cosmos established their nation—from occupation to electrification in a short time, and with subsequent progress going smoothly. Schiller knew all too well the immense sacrifices they had made behind the scenes.
Regardless of where that land came from or how the people there perished, the very fact that mutants were able to seize it speaks volumes about the perilous political maneuvering behind it. It's important to understand that not everyone on Earth is powerless against mutants; at least their current neighbors aren't. Behind the mutants' current favorable situation lies countless untold hardships. Some have devoted themselves tirelessly to this cause, while others have shed blood and sacrificed their lives. Mutant leaders rarely speak of it, but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
Compared to them, the X royal family's resources were far too meager. Without an alien base, they had no way out, and their resources were far too limited; they were essentially playing cards out of thin air.
Putting aside everything else, the way they gained recognition from other countries on Earth was by offering a miraculous medicine that only mutants could obtain, in order to help people on Earth cure diseases.
Moreover, they didn't do this after the founding of the nation or when they were close to success; they did it from the very beginning. As soon as they announced their purpose, they told the world that mutants would send ordinary people a magical medicine to demonstrate their goodwill.
When Schiller first encountered this plot, he could only lament how shallow the Americans' wisdom in struggle truly was. No nation in this world has ever been founded by demonstrating goodwill to the world. Not a single one. Not even the Jewish people, whose story might be a veiled reference to mutants.
After the founding of your nation, you can demonstrate your sincerity in actively integrating into the international community. Alternatively, when your reputation is damaged or you face criticism, you can adopt an attitude akin to repaying evil with kindness to showcase your magnanimity as a major power.
However, absolutely no country would resort to appeasement to demonstrate its lack of malicious intent when fighting for its sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity. Such tactics would only backfire.
There is no such thing as a "legitimate nation-building" in this world. Even if you've been living on this land since humans came down from the trees, establishing a nation requires tempering in blood and fire, forging national spirit and honor through generations of wars of expansion. Even the relatively young United States gained independence and unification through war.
Moreover, Marvel Earth already possesses a cure for cancer. To say nothing of other things, Wakanda has the technology to cure almost all human diseases. Although not publicly disclosed, Wakanda is clearly using its medical technology as leverage to enhance its international standing. The fact that mutants are offering free medicine poses the first threat to Wakanda.
Other countries may not perceive goodwill from this behavior either. Because, while it is cruel, healthcare in many countries is a business. And as a business, it cannot tolerate interference from others, much less disruption of the market.
For many countries, having a shared object of public goodwill is also extremely dangerous. Winning over the hearts and minds of the people has always been a major taboo throughout history, not to mention the threat posed by mutants themselves. It's fair to say that this move has stepped on every political landmine imaginable.
The subsequent political maneuvering was bizarre. For example, the White Queen's actions—storming the courtroom, using mind control to wield power, and forcibly taking away a mutant who had injured someone—were tantamount to political suicide.
It's fair to say that after reading the entire comic, it might not be enjoyable from the mutant's perspective, but from the perspective of an ordinary person, it's understandable why ordinary people react so strongly.
If this group of people were to encounter the group from the main universe, that universe would probably be completely doomed. But the consequences of something happening to this universe are so severe that even knowing it's hopeless, we still have to find a way to save it.
“I’ll go there myself,” Schiller said. “As for the main universe, I’ll have a meeting with Stephen, Loki, and Nick.
"You're going over there?" Charles said, his eyes wide. "It doesn't have to be that bad, does it?"
Schiller rubbed his temples and said, "You know I have knowledge of many things beyond factual judgment. I can only tell you that the situation in that universe is far more complex than you imagine. The beginning was already very unfavorable, and now it's a disaster. This chain of events is probably only solvable by me."
Charles immediately showed some fear and said, "If that's the case, then maybe we shouldn't..."
“I’m going with Stark,” Schiller said. “That ‘mother’ model’ is probably quite technical. If it can’t be handled in a more subtle and precise way, it will be like a skilled cook without rice when it comes to political maneuvering.”
Stark had been listening the whole time, but he hadn't expected to have anything to say about him. He said, "I was thinking of going on a trip to a warm place, but I didn't mean to go to the sun."
"If you don't go, I'll have to look in other universes..."
"Don't give me that crap," Stark scoffed. "Have you stopped messing around with the Iron Mans from other universes?"
"I mean, the only thing I can do is bring in little Morgans from other universes so you can take them with you."
“You…” Stark took a few deep breaths. “Fine, then I’ll reluctantly go with you. But let’s make it clear, I’ll only handle the technical aspects. Don’t even think about getting me to deal with those troublesome politicians.”
