Chapter 3944 MU: The Superbody Incident (Twenty-Four)
“Thank you so much, you’ve been a huge help.” The main universe’s Batman hugged the Dark Master, then shook hands with Detective Gorilla, saying, “Without the magical creatures you found, the construction of the pillars wouldn’t have been so fast.”
“Don’t say that, Batman. We should be thanking you,” Master Darkness said sincerely, looking at Batman. “You have no idea what this means for the magical world. You saved the lives of almost every wizard. With the magical defense network in place, Earth will never be threatened by those mysterious beings again. It’s a miracle.”
“But we still can’t let our guard down,” the main universe Batman said. “The magical defense network needs a long period of maintenance and updates to become stable. In the short time since it was built, there will probably be all sorts of problems. We have to work together to make sure that no one takes advantage of the situation.”
Just then, Strange walked over and said, "The pillars of the Batcave are complete, and this will be the control center of Earth's magical defense network. Now you can pour energy in and power up the entire defense network."
The main universe's Batman took a deep breath. He pressed a button on his communicator and said, "Justice League, assemble."
About half an hour later, the entire Justice League, along with Master Darkness, Constantine, Zatanna, and many other sorcerers, formed a circle in front of a spherical platform. The main universe's Batman took out the Infinity Stones, which contained compressed magical energy, and poured all that energy into the sphere.
As the light grew brighter, a pillar of light shot into the sky. In an instant, nine points of light, evenly distributed across the Earth, lit up one after another, and the golden shield network connected to form a surface. As the last ray of light fell, the azure planet slowly opened its eyes.
The main universe's Batman looked up. Although the Batcave was underground and he couldn't see what was happening in the sky, he could faintly sense energy fluctuations. Meanwhile, beings like Wonder Woman, who could sense energy fluctuations themselves, excitedly took flight.
"This is amazing!" Wonder Woman exclaimed. She flew around the Batcave once and then said, "This isn't just a defensive network; why do I feel a change in the Earth's energy field?!"
“That’s only natural,” Strange said. “The magical defense network will adjust the Earth’s internal energy field to the frequency most suitable for human survival. To be precise, that’s how it should be, but all sorts of strange things have disrupted the energy field. This is just setting things right.”
The magicians all sensed something. Even the usually unreliable Constantine tilted his head back and remained silent for a long time, as if sensing something.
After a while, Constantine suddenly coughed twice and lay down on the ground to vomit. But what he vomited was not food, but clumps of black sludge.
In his ears, some whispers turned into roars, but the roars gradually weakened until they disappeared completely. He took a deep breath, stood up, and put his hand on Batman's shoulder, saying, "Not bad, Batman."
Superman grabbed him by the collar with a hint of disdain and pulled him away from the main universe's Batman. Constantine didn't seem to care, squatting in the corner muttering to himself, seemingly experimenting with some new magic.
Zatanna looked completely bewildered. She asked, "What's changed? Why can't I feel anything? Is my magic still working?"
After saying that, she tried it out and found that her irony spell still worked, so she breathed a sigh of relief. But this made the main universe's Batman frown. He looked at Strange and said, "Why is her magic still working?"
Strange also noticed this strange phenomenon. When Zatanna used magic, there were no energy fluctuations around her, meaning that she seemed to be using a force that directly altered reality, not magic.
But Strange, being experienced, said directly, "It must be that the guy she contracted with is special. He didn't just provide her with power, but changed the nature of her existence, making her an extension of himself. That's how he could directly modify reality like her."
Upon hearing this explanation, the main universe's Batman couldn't help but frown. Strange, however, shook his head, completely unconcerned.
"Changing her form of existence is one thing, wanting to come in personally is another. There are examples like this in our universe, where in the end, the contractors controlled most of her power and became her absolute rulers."
You mean Scarlet Witch?
"More or less. This young lady's contracted partner might be even more mysterious than that, at least I can't see anything special about her. But the fact that she's remained stable for so many years suggests that there's probably nothing wrong with her."
Although Strange said so, the main universe's Batman clearly didn't believe him. Mainly, he felt that Strange might not fully understand the nature of those beings on their side.
Anyway, if this entity were to suddenly explode one day, the main universe would be the first to be affected, so we really have to be on guard.
But the future Strange envisioned was also somewhat tempting. If their universe could truly produce a Scarlet Witch, that would be true wealth and prosperity.
More importantly, the main universe's Batman understands Zatanna. While she's a bit naive, she's not inherently bad; in fact, you could say she's quite kind. Of course, her relationship with Constantine lowers her score somewhat—she's a bit too easygoing. But if she could truly be as powerful as the Scarlet Witch, Earth would have another layer of protection.
Strange clearly understood what the main universe's Batman was thinking. He cleared his throat and said, "Since there's a magical defense network in place, you could try to get her to communicate with the entity behind her. Who knows, you might be able to trick her into giving you some more power?"
Just then, an alarm suddenly went off in the Batcave. Everyone was immediately startled, thinking there was a problem with the magical defense network. But when the main universe's Batman went to the monitoring equipment, he saw a hooded woman standing outside the Batcave.
"Rachel?" The main universe Batman opened the door. The girl walked in, took off her hood, and it was indeed Raven.
"What did you do?" she asked. "My father was hunting me down. I had just escaped from the Spirit Book Hell back to Earth, but his power suddenly vanished, and he let out a scream before he died. I sensed an energy burst here. Did you attack him?"
“It’s the Earth Magic Defense Network, Miss.” The main universe Batman winked at Wonder Woman, who then pulled Raven away to explain. The others all wore expressions of delight.
“Looks like it really worked,” Superman said happily. “Raven’s father was a very powerful devil, his name was… what was his name again?”
“The Triple Demon,” Zatanna said, “that’s a real monster. None of the hellish ones can compare to him. If he can be kept out, then we’re definitely…”
boom!
The pillar of light that stretched straight into the sky suddenly trembled violently. Everyone looked up. Constantine was the first to react: "It's the Demon King Sangu! He's come for his daughter!"
A group of people ran out of the Batcave and looked up at the sky. But because they were too far from the magical energy source, ordinary people like Batman couldn't see anything. Only Wonder Woman, Zatanna, and others who could sense the magical energy changed their expressions.
"It really is him!" Wonder Woman said through gritted teeth. "That guy is a monster; he even injured his daughter!"
“Triple Demon has always been obsessed with his daughter,” Constantine said, unusually serious. “He won’t rest until we bring Raven back.”
“We can’t let him take her away,” Wonder Woman said. “This girl is innocent. And we have to show everyone that Earth is no longer these bastards’ living room!”
As they were talking, Strange had already grabbed his cloak and put it on, his voice still echoing in everyone's ears: "Why waste words with a demon? Let's beat him up first!"
“You guys go first, I’ll go back and put on my armor,” the main universe Batman said. He hesitated for a moment before adding, “It would be best if we could leave him behind; he’s a huge amount of energy.”
Green Lantern and Flash exchanged a glance, watching Batman walk towards the Batcave. Green Lantern said, "It's really different now."
"There's nothing we can do about it; the multiverse waits for no one."
"Let's go, it's time to teach these bastards a lesson. Trafficking underage children is a criminal offense!"
The main universe's Batman returned to the Batcave. Raven was banging on the Batcave's magical defenses. She seemed anxious, but her tone was completely devoid of emotion. Clearly, at this point, the main universe's Raven hadn't broken free from her emotional seal, remaining as rigid as a robot.
"Is he here? Let me out. I can't stay here, or I'll get you all killed."
“Calm down, miss, we won’t let him take you away.” The main universe Batman said as he put on the Hellbat armor.
"You don't understand, the Demon King Sangu is extremely terrifying, he..."
When Raven turned to look at the main universe's Batman, all she saw was a blood-red suit of armor radiating terrifying energy. She swallowed the rest of her sentence, and then, as Batman walked out of the Batcave, said, "If you can, don't kill him."
"Don't worry, Miss." After saying this, the main universe Batman walked out, then silently added in his mind, "We really can't kill him. Keeping him around to pluck his fur is the right solution."
When the main universe's Batman went out in his suit, the battle had already reached a fever pitch—it was quite intense for Sangu.
Currently, the Justice League and the magicians are standing inside the magical defense network, while Trigon is outside the protective shield. This shield is one-way; humans can project magic outwards, but Trigon's magic cannot penetrate.
While his attacks did cause some damage to the magical defense network, the main universe Batman checked the energy monitors and found the losses to be perfectly acceptable. It's also possible that he had already amassed too much Seven Lanterns power; even if Trigon continued to attack for another hundred years, he wouldn't be able to get in.
Blame the Guardians of the Universe, thought the main universe Batman. They were far too greedy; otherwise, they wouldn't have so much energy.
Furthermore, Batman from the main universe discovered that the magical defense network he had built in his universe seemed to be somewhat different from that of the world next door. Although it was initially golden, it flashed with seven-colored light when activated, and it also seemed to have a slight counter-damage effect.
Hal, the Green Lantern, noticed something even more different. He had originally been firing arrows through the protective barrier, but hadn't paid attention to the direction and accidentally drifted out. After passing through the magical defense network and returning, his ring's battery was fully charged!
He stared at his fingers in shock, then pulled out the lamp holder. He remembered that when he left, the lamp holder wasn't fully charged; it was only half-full. But now it was fully charged!
Green Lantern immediately realized the difference in the magical defense network. He plunged headfirst into it, took a deep breath, and yelled to the Flash beside him, "Barry! Send me to his feet!"
The Flash also noticed the difference in the magical defense network, because he could actually run on this network that shouldn't have any physical defense!
Upon hearing Green Lantern's shout, he immediately ran over, carried the Flash through the Speed Force, and then threw Green Lantern directly beneath the giant phantom of Trigon.
First, there was a small green glow, which then expanded larger and larger until the central part shone like the sun. The energy fluctuations grew stronger and stronger...
boom! ! !
The massive demon was blasted to pieces. Energy fragments flew everywhere. While the others were still in shock, Strange had already flown to the scene of the accident and turned back to shout at them:
"What are you standing there for? Hurry up and pick it up!"
