Chapter 3925 MU Superbody Major Event (5)

Chapter 3925 MU: The Superbody Incident (Part 5)

"Alright, he's gone. How long are you planning to stay in there?" Injustice Superman said, tapping the jar.

The injustice-ridden Batman, who had been keeping his eyes closed, suddenly opened them. His figure flickered and then reappeared outside the jar. He was soaking wet, leaving a puddle on the ground.

“This is a real pain,” Batman Injustice said through gritted teeth. “I don’t want to find out who brought him here.”

"Whoosh—" Injustice Superman used a very gentle freezing breath to dry Injustice Batman, then frowned and said, "Did he go back to get reinforcements? Will there really be a lot of Batmen coming to attack our universe later?"

"Not really. After all, you just imprisoned me and mind-controlled me. Although it sounds like a ghost story to Batman, they still have to deal with the multiverse invasion incident and don't have time to deal with me for the time being."

“That had to be.” Injustice scoffed, but then added, “I saw him trembling. Is he afraid of me?”

“Yes, but no.” The Injustice Batman shook his head and said, “In fact, I don’t think you can beat him, and he knows that, not to mention that group of ridiculously strong Batmen. He might just be… experiencing a nightmare come true.”

"What do you mean?" The two of them walked through the portal together and headed out side by side.

“Batman is human too, and he gets scared. One of his biggest fears is Superman suddenly going insane. It’s just that Clark Kent has been too good to him, so he lacks imagination about what an evil Superman might do to him. You’ve really shown him that today.”

"What do you mean?"

"For Batman, death is not the worst ending. While it may not be a relief, it is still an acceptable conclusion. The most terrifying thing is that he would lose himself, be used by others, and become an accomplice to evil. And if Superman were to do this, Batman might actually be so scared that he would have nightmares."

"Why do I have a bad feeling?"

"Of course, and you'll soon be facing some tough battles."

Injustice Superman stopped in his tracks, watching Injustice Batman walk out of the office. He was still somewhat bewildered. If he had been willing to use his super brain a little more at this moment, he might have been able to withstand the furious attack from the main universe's Superman ten minutes later. Unfortunately, he didn't.

"You bastard!!!!!" The roar of Superman from the main universe echoed across the sky.

It was at this moment that Injustice Superman realized: the Batmen might indeed be too busy to bother him, as they had responsibilities to the multiverse; but Superman was different. It wasn't Superman's turn to intervene yet, but none of them could accept such a situation.

Injustice Superman was punched and sent flying, crashing heavily onto the roof of the White House. Then he felt himself being pulled into space at near-light speed, before being punched into the sun.

The power of the enraged Superman from the main universe is unpredictable. Injustice Superman not only felt like he was about to fall apart, but he even felt like the sun behind him was about to collapse.

"Damn Batman!" Injustice Superman cursed inwardly, but still pressed the button on the communicator on his arm. He was no match for the main universe Superman, especially since the latter was in a state of explosive power. If Batman didn't come to his rescue soon, he really would be killed.

A few seconds later, Injustice Batman appeared before Superman in the main universe. He shimmered with magical light, but it was insignificant in the sunlight.

Just as the main universe's Superman was about to deliver another punch, he abruptly stopped, but when he realized why Injustice Batman was there, he roared at Injustice Superman, "How dare you?! How dare you!!!"

Injustice Superman also realized: if the main universe's Batman thought he was controlling Injustice Batman, then the main universe's Superman must also think that he was controlling Injustice Batman to come and save him.

He suddenly realized what a massive trap he had stepped into. Now, no matter what Injustice Batman did, everyone else would assume that they were controlling him.

If the Unjust Batman went to the multiverse and did something bad, wouldn't he be the one to blame?!

Damn it, I knew he was up to no good!

However, the arrival of Injustice Batman did make Superman in the main universe hesitant to act. He had his fist outstretched, but he didn't dare to smash it down; he wanted to reach out and grab Injustice Batman, but he was afraid that Injustice Superman would control Injustice Batman to fight back, and that he might not control his strength well and hurt the other party. He swallowed his anger and his face turned pale and red.

But Injustice Batman didn't explain anything; he just stood there blankly, looking rather dim-witted, clearly being controlled. "This guy's a pretty good actor," Injustice Superman thought bitterly.

"Why did you do this?!" Superman from the main universe glared at Injustice Superman and exclaimed, "How could you treat Batman like this?! How could you do that?!"

Injustice Superman opened his mouth. He knew how superhumanly devoted Supermen were to Batman, because he himself had been like that before. If Batman said the Earth was flat, he could actually go and carve some edges out of it.

Now that the main universe's Batman is telling him that he's the one controlling his own universe's Batman, he'll absolutely believe it, especially since he just saw the evidence. There's no point in explaining now.

Even a rabbit will bite when cornered, and Superman will use his super brain when pushed to the limit. Injustice Superman took a deep breath, trying to maintain his cold and serious expression, and said, "He's in my way, Clark. He shouldn't have stopped me."

Injustice Superman clearly sensed that Injustice Batman glanced at him with a surprised look from out of sight of Superman in the main universe, which made Injustice Superman so angry that he wanted to turn around and punch him, but he managed to hold back.

"Even so, you can't...can't you just have a proper talk with him?"

"This is the worst possible outcome, isn't it? Do you think I don't want a better outcome? But he's not willing to cooperate."

"You still can't do that! It's wrong! It's too evil! Batman is your friend and comrade-in-arms. Even if you had some conflicts in the past, you can't treat him like this!"

“I think you’ve got one thing wrong.” Injustice Superman flew a little closer and, in the firelight of the sun, looked at the main universe Superman and said, “The one who has always stood in my way has never been Batman, but Bruce Wayne.”

"what?"

"You're too impulsive, Clark. If you had read my bill properly before punching me, you would have understood why I did this. But perhaps it's not too late now. You can choose to maintain this anger and go find more people to deal with me, or you can remain calm and, like a professional journalist, investigate the truth. What will you choose?"

Injustice Superman felt another approving glance from Injustice Batman hidden in the shadows. He rolled his eyes inwardly. This super brain of his didn't know until it started working, and once it did, he realized how incredibly stupid his counterparts in other universes were.

The Superman's arrogance in the main universe gradually faded. He began to have doubts, because he knew that not all Batmen were good, like the Man Who Laughs and Owlman. While being mind-controlled was a bit much, it could be considered somewhat deserved. What if the one in this universe was the same?

"What policies have you issued?" he asked.

"It's all written in the Kent Act. I happen to have a copy on my desk; you can take a look if you're interested."

The main universe's Superman flew towards Earth with some skepticism. In his view, Injustice Superman could run away but couldn't escape; he couldn't possibly not return to Earth, so a little longer wouldn't make a difference.

He was actually quite surprised that Superman became president, and the main universe's Batman seemed to highly approve of his governing abilities, even after learning that he had mind-controlled Batman, his evaluation didn't drop much. This is very strange.

After the anger subsided, curiosity took hold. The Superman from the main universe flew to the Oval Office in the White House and picked up a thick stack of bills to read.

But there's really no need to look closely. After flipping through a few pages, the main universe's Superman exclaimed in surprise: "A 96% income tax rate?!"

He glanced at the bill, then at the Injustice Superman who had just flown in, then glanced at the bill again, and as if he didn't know English, he pointed to the numbers and counted them carefully.

"Are you serious?!" he couldn't help but ask.

Injustice Superman simply stared at him expressionlessly. But inwardly, he was also marveling: "Brainiac is truly ruthless. Perhaps this is what they mean by 'those who are not of our kind are bound to have different hearts.'"

"You really collected it?" Superman from the main universe asked again.

Injustice Superman didn't speak, but simply pointed out the window. The main universe Superman couldn't see anything outside, so he walked over and looked out, where he saw an aircraft carrier—a space carrier.

"NASA's latest achievement," Injustice Superman said casually, "is only worth about the same as three Los Angeles estates."

Besides the strikingly massive structure, Superman from the main universe also noticed that the roads near the White House appeared to have been completely widened, and the greenery had more than doubled. He flew out of the window, looking down over Washington, D.C., and even the entire East Coast, and discovered that the United States seemed to have transformed into an infrastructure superpower overnight, with almost everywhere undergoing infrastructure renovations.

Superman is a metropolis resident; doesn't he know what metropolis is like? It's one of the most developed cities in America. Repairing a leaky subway station entrance can take three years, and it breaks down again less than two months after it's fixed. He can't even remember how many times he's gotten soaked while rushing to work on the subway.

When they flew back, the main universe's Superman became somewhat silent. But he still frowned and looked at Injustice Superman, saying, "But that's a different matter. Even if you're a good president, you can't treat your friends like this, really."

“I’ve said it before, Batman has never been in my way. A street hero can’t stop me from changing the world, but Bruce Wayne is different. How much has he taken from people?”

The main universe's Superman pursed his lips. Unjust Superman pressed his advantage, moving even closer, almost face-to-face with the main universe's Superman, then tilting his head slightly to whisper in his ear, "What if I said Batman did it voluntarily?"

The Superman from the main universe clenched his fist and turned to glare at him, but found only a calm expression on Injustice Superman's face. His fist slowly opened, but his fingertips began to tremble.

He suddenly realized that when the main universe's Batman was telling these stories, he hadn't looked him in the eye. This was completely abnormal; he always made eye contact, but not this time.

The Superman from the main universe took a deep breath and said, "No, even if he did it willingly, you should have stopped him. You shouldn't have let him do it."

"why?"

The main universe's Superman seemed to want to say something, but then seemed to remember something, and in the end just silently glanced at Injustice Superman before turning and leaving.
