Chapter 3812 The School Doctor's "Daily Life" (Twenty-Seven)
"Can you teach me dark magic?" Schiller asked.
Mephisto's eyes widened. "What? You want to learn dark magic? What do you want to do with that?"
"Never mind that. Anyway, I want to learn. Will you teach me or not?"
“We can make a deal,” Mephisto immediately seized the opportunity. “If you help me convince Chris to give me more screen time, I’ll teach you dark magic.”
"Guaranteed to teach and learn?"
"Guaranteed to teach and you'll learn."
“Alright,” Schiller said, “but don’t get your hopes up too high. At most, you’ll just hear the name ‘Mephisto’ a few more times…”
“No problem,” Mephisto readily agreed. His primary purpose in participating in the acting was self-promotion, to make the name “Mephisto” a household name. Even if it was just a few appearances in the movie, given the film's popularity, each additional appearance would gain him hundreds of thousands of followers. It was practically a guaranteed profit.
"Okay, so how do you plan to teach it?"
"That's easy. I'll send you a compressed file."
As soon as Mephisto finished speaking, Schiller felt something new in his mental tower, as if someone had transmitted a message through his brainwaves.
He opened it and, wow, Mephisto is keeping up with the times, taking online classes too.
What he sent over were video footage of those dark sorcerers using magic back then. Since most of the dark sorcerers were his followers, Mephisto could see their every move and naturally record their research process.
This is much better than a dry lecture, because with a research process involved, you can understand how certain things are reasoned out. This kind of process is more suitable for learning.
Moreover, these things are transmitted directly through brainwaves, and can be understood directly in the brain without going through the senses. They are directly allocated to areas of the brain, which is much faster than reading books or listening to lectures in the real world.
Schiller immediately began decompressing the code. Although the speed wasn't very fast, he understood a portion of it and was able to start explaining it to Night Owl without delaying anything.
Schiller spent most of the day learning the basics of dark magic, then left a note on the bedside table in Night Owl's dormitory, inviting him to meet in the Enchanted Forest that evening.
Sure enough, Night Owl sneaked out of the school at night, and his figure was spotted by the main universe Batman and Arkham Batman.
"Why is he in the forest again?" Batman Arkham asked, frowning.
"If nothing unexpected happens, he should be going to see Schiller," said the main universe Batman.
Arkham Batman turned to look at him.
“Night Owl will go to Schiller about the curse. This time, Schiller won’t say he can’t break the curse; instead, he’ll try to fool him.”
"why?"
“This doctor is different from the Doctor,” the main universe Batman said. “The Doctor is a very trouble-averse person and very lazy. But this doctor will not let go of any opportunity. Even if he knows that I may be the one behind it, he will take advantage of the situation and do something himself to try to kick Night Owl into a deeper pit.”
"So what did he do?"
"He'll probably lie and say he can lift the curse. Now that Night Owl has entered the Enchanted Forest, he's probably there to lift the curse."
What's in it for us?
"The best thing about handing him over to Dr. Schiller is that the doctor is bound to betray him. Night Owl won't get anything out of it, and he'll at least keep the doctor's attention occupied. Then we can do something else."
"What do you want to do?"
"According to Night Owl's intelligence, the Enchanted Forest does indeed contain many rare plants and animals. These animals and plants may be more valuable in practical ways than magic itself. I want to conduct biochemical research on them, but it would be unwise to venture into the forest rashly. Where else do you think we could obtain these things?"
"So, you led Night Owl to Dr. Schiller so that they would leave the school hospital so you could go in and find materials?"
The main universe's Batman nodded and said, "Everyone's progress in studying magical theory is about the same. To make further progress, we'll have to find a different path. I'm more confident in the fields of biology and chemistry. What about you?"
Arkham Batman thought for a moment and said, "I'm more interested in mechanics. Actually, I'd like to modify my Batmobile with magic. But I've never heard of any magical mechanics."
"Of course there is. I've met Iron Man from this universe, and he seems to have this technology, but unfortunately he doesn't teach at this school. Perhaps you could try to lure him here."
Arkham Batman nodded and said, "That's right, I should be able to learn something if I can talk to him. So, shall we split up?"
"Yes, and don't forget to tell the others to find a field that interests them to study. While Night Owl wastes time breaking the curse, we can get ahead of him."
Batman in Arkham finally learned the full picture of the main universe Batman's series of plans. Actually, it's quite simple: using Night Owl's revelation that he had been to the forest, they rewrote the encyclopedia, lured Night Owl to the library, made him discover the secret room, then made him believe he was cursed, pressured him to go to the school hospital, and then used Schiller's initiative to lure Night Owl away from the school.
In this way, while Nite Owl is busy outwitting Schiller, the main universe's Batman can overtake him and surpass Nite Owl in every other area.
“I have an idea,” Batman Arkham suddenly said. “We can find Iron Man’s short video account and use that account to contact him.”
“You want to tell him directly? But I think that might not work. He’s a rather…” The main universe Batman paused before saying, “I’m not trying to say anything bad about him, but he’s the kind of person who says one thing but means another. If you invite him directly, he might actually refuse to come.”
"What if I pretend to be his fan?" Arkham Batman seemed to have thought everything through. He said, "With magical movies being so popular, it's perfectly normal for me, as his fan, to want him to make an appearance in a movie, right?"
"However, his relationship with the Sorcerer Supreme wasn't very good either. They seemed to have each carved out their own territory."
“That’s even better. If we can lure him here, we might be able to use him to counter the Sorcerer Supreme. Haven’t you always had reservations about the Sorcerer Supreme leading the Human Alliance?”
"I have more doubts about Iron Man leading the human alliance."
“We have to compare them to know which one is better.” Arkham Batman opened a short video and said while scrolling, “Don’t worry, it won’t be long before we have a new professor.”
In the height of summer, the New York night sky was exceptionally clear. A blue shooting star streaked across the sky, and couples standing on rooftop observation decks quickly took out their phones to capture the moment.
As time has passed, most people now know that the shooting star that streaks across the New York sky in the middle of the night is most likely Iron Man, but that doesn't stop them from taking photos, checking in, and posting short videos.
Stark wasn't showing off his suit this time. He flew over the Osborn Tower and saw Peter crouching on the edge of the rooftop, his eyes a little red.
“Harry was crying very hard,” Peter said. “He lost his father.”
When is Old Osborne's funeral scheduled?
“Next Monday,” Peter said, coughing twice. “There should be a lot of people coming to pay their respects then.”
Stark patted him on the shoulder and said, "It's his choice. His son will understand. Besides, the Osborne Group is doing well now, and young Osborne is quite capable."
“It’s rare to hear you praise someone,” Peter said, shaking off his frustration.
Stark scoffed and said, "I admit I'm not as good at business as Osborne. Without Pepper, I'd be driven crazy by those guys."
Peter took a deep breath, preparing to change the subject: "How's your lawsuit with that imposter going?"
"Haha, his account's been banned." Stark said happily, waving his phone. "Now there's only one official Iron Man left!"
“That’s not bad.” Peter leaned closer to look at his phone screen. “How many videos have you posted? Have you greeted your fans yet?”
"Not many, just a dozen or so videos of mechs. My follower growth is a bit slow. Do you think I should show my face to prove I'm really Iron Man?"
"I think it's a good idea. The imposter from before never showed his face in a video, probably because you've never shown your face while wearing a mecha before. If you made a video like that, it would probably go viral."
Stark wholeheartedly agreed. Then Peter put his arm around his shoulder and said, "Let's make a video together, that way my fans will follow you too. The three Spider-Mans have been quiet for a long time, our new video will definitely go viral."
The two acted quickly, filming a video of Spider-Man and Iron Man flying together over New York. After landing, Iron Man even removed his mask.
The video indeed went viral overnight, instantly topping the trending charts and being pushed to almost everyone who follows superheroes. Stark gained a massive number of followers and was grinning from ear to ear.
"Hahaha, and lots of people are sending me private messages praising me!" Stark said, pointing at the screen like a child. "Peter, look, they're all saying I'm handsome. Hahahaha!"
Stark kept scrolling through his private messages, one by one. Suddenly, when he saw a message from a certain account, his smile faded considerably.
"Damn it," he couldn't help but complain. "All Stephen did was make a movie, so why is everyone talking about him? I also made a documentary, doesn't anyone watch that?"
"Uh, what did he say?" Peter leaned closer to see.
"He asked me when I could see myself in that movie. How am I supposed to reply? Am I supposed to say that Strange never even invited me to be in it?!"
Peter hesitated for a moment before saying, "Didn't you ask Stephen?"
"Why should I ask him!" Stark said again, as if his tail had been stepped on. "If he wants the great Iron God to participate, he should invite me himself!!"
“Okay, okay.” Peter waved his hand and took out his phone.
Stark narrowed his eyes and said, "What are you going to do? You're not going to tell on him, are you?"
“No way, you and I are best friends.” Peter said while texting Strange, “You should invite Tony to visit your magic academy and then get him a cameo in your magical movie. Dr. Schiller isn’t in New York, nobody can do anything about him, he’s probably going to be driven to a mental hospital again.”
Strange was reviewing lesson plans in the principal's office when his phone, which was lying next to him, beeped. He picked it up, saw Peter's message, and then dialed a number.
"Hey Tony? Nothing much, just saw your video went viral and I was thinking of inviting you to film a promotional video. Are you free?"
“Well, if you're so kind as to invite me, I might go,” Stark’s voice came from the other end. “Just to shoot a promotional video?”
"A cameo role would be fine, but it depends on the director's decision..."
Knock, knock, knock. There was a knock on the window. Strange turned around and saw Stark's glowing eyes staring intently at him from behind the stained glass window.
