Zombies: Cultivating Immortality at Maoshan, Becoming Stronger by Doing Nothing

Chapter 954

Chapter 954

In a short while, dozens of drops of blood had gathered on the ground. Ling Yanyan took a deep breath and then, according to the records of Maoshan Taoist arts, incorporated the blood into the small array on the ground.

"Boom!" The ground trembled slightly, and then the entire tomb suddenly sank downwards.

"What's going on?!" Ling Yanyan's expression changed slightly. He tried to grab his arm, but he couldn't budge it at all.

Soon, the tomb disappeared from Ling Yanyan's sight.

Ling Yanyan was anxious, and he looked worriedly at the coffin above the tomb.

The coffin is still there, and the body inside hasn't escaped, so things should be relatively stable.

Ling Yanyan felt a little relieved, but still didn't dare to relax and continued to vigilantly observe his surroundings.

This is, after all, an ancient burial site; who knows what traps or zombies we might encounter?

After an unknown amount of time, a strong, pungent stench suddenly wafted from the tomb, causing Ling Yan Yan to frown.

The stench grew stronger and stronger until it became almost suffocating.

Ling Yanyan held his breath, watching his surroundings warily, afraid that something strange might suddenly appear.

After an unknown amount of time, footsteps suddenly came from the dark passageway.

"Who?!" Ling Yanyan shouted, gripping his peach wood sword tightly and scanning the source of the voice warily.

A man slowly emerged from the darkness, dressed in a black robe and cloak that concealed his appearance.

The man emanated a putrid stench, causing Ling Yanyan to frown.

The man seemed to notice Ling Yanyan's gaze. He slowly turned his head, revealing a pale face.

"Ugh!!" Ling Yanyan's stomach churned, and he almost vomited.

This thing is so ugly! It's scarier than a skeleton!

The man didn't seem to care about his appearance; he walked straight up to Ling Yanyan.

"Heh, I didn't expect you to still be alive," the man said in a hoarse, mocking voice.

Ling Yanyan glared at him, then asked, "Who are you? Why are you trying to harm me?"

The man sneered and said, "Didn't you already guess that?"

Ling Yanyan frowned. He had indeed suspected it for a long time, but he had never been able to find out the truth.

"Did you bring me here?" Ling Yanyan said through gritted teeth.

"Of course," the man said indifferently.

Upon hearing this, Ling Yanyan felt a surge of rage.

"If you wanted to harm me, why did you spare my life?" Ling Yanyan asked angrily.

The man sneered, "I have my reasons for not killing you."

Ling Yanyan laughed in anger, "Fine, I've finally met a zombie with a conscience today!"

The man snorted and said, "Conscience? Ha! You're nothing but an ant. What right do you have to talk about conscience?"

Ling Yanyan laughed angrily: "No matter how lowly I am, I am still a living person. And you? You are nothing but a dead walking corpse. What right do you have to look down on the living?"

The man chuckled, then said, "You're wrong. I'm not an inanimate object. I'm the Zombie King."

"The Zombie King?" Ling Yanyan raised an eyebrow. "Is this your reason for keeping me here?"

"Do you know how zombies are created?" the man asked casually.

"Aren't zombies evil spirits that arise after a person dies?" Ling Yanyan asked in surprise. "Aren't you a zombie?"

"Heh, foolish mortals!" the man sneered, "The world is vast, far beyond the mundane realm. On the distant continent of gods and demons, zombies are a general term for many demons, ghosts, spirits, and so on."

Ling Yan Yan suddenly realized that zombies were not limited to humans, but included many other living beings!

"Then what race are you?" Ling Yanyan asked curiously.

The man declared proudly, "I am the Zombie King! I was born with boundless power!"

"Oh, then why did you become like this?" Ling Yanyan said with a sneer. "Were you defeated and turned into this?"

"Nonsense!" the Zombie King roared in fury. "When I was roaming the Three Realms, you little brat were probably still nursing somewhere!"

"Oh, you've got quite a temper," Ling Yanyan sneered. "With your attitude, you probably don't even have enough breast milk, do you?"

"Pfft."

Upon hearing Ling Yanyan's words, the Zombie King coughed up a mouthful of blood and roared, "Bastard!"

Ling Yanyan sneered and said, "I'm stating the facts. If you were truly so powerful, would you have been knocked off a cliff?"

"You bastard!" the Zombie King roared in fury. "I'll show you who's truly powerful one day!"

After saying that, Ling Yanyan from the Zombie Dynasty pounced on him.

"boom!"

With a loud bang, Ling Yanyan and the Zombie King were both sent flying.

Ling Yanyan groaned, a trickle of bright red blood spilling from the corner of his mouth. His chest and abdomen were dented, and his ribs were probably all broken.

The zombie king fell to the ground, struggled to get up, and swayed, clearly seriously injured.

Both of them have a clear understanding of each other's situation.

Ling Yanyan was weak and trembling all over. That collision had almost cost him half his life.

The zombie king was even more pitiful; it leaned against the wall, its body hunched over, its face contorted in pain.

"You bastard, you actually have a magical artifact protecting you!" The Zombie King glared angrily at the talisman wrapped around Ling Yan Yan's wrist, which was an exorcism talisman.

"I advise you to run away quickly, otherwise you'll surely lose your life when my master arrives," Ling Yanyan said coldly, coughing.

Although he is physically weak now, his soul is still intact. If his master comes to save him, he will surely be able to kill this dead bat.

"Hmph, a mere mortal dares to challenge me?" the Zombie King sneered. "I disdain to fight with a bunch of trash like you!"

As the zombie king spoke, he stretched out his withered hands and began to form hand seals.
