Chapter 225 Travel Planning
Chapter 225 Travel Planning
When night falls and everything is quiet, and the children finally fall into sweet dreams, Lotta, Lei and I quietly start our unique "night life" - an unconventional snack symposium.
I quietly walked over to the cupboard and happily took out the various snacks I had carefully prepared. These snacks were so dazzling, their colorful packaging as bright as a rainbow, and soon the small table was filled to the brim.
Lotta, impatient, could no longer contain her excitement. She quickly reached out and grabbed a bag of chips, tearing open the package eagerly. Suddenly, a burst of crisp and pleasant chewing sounds filled the originally quiet room, like a cheerful melody.
Lei, on the other hand, was far more elegant. She leisurely opened a box of exquisite chocolates, carefully broke off a small piece, and gently placed it in her mouth. As the chocolate slowly melted on her tongue, her beautiful eyes narrowed slightly, revealing a look of contentment, like a lazy and contented cat.
"Those little guys are so cute today!" I said excitedly, and put a soft and sweet one into my mouth.
"That's right! Especially that little brat Bailey, she looks so greedy while eating, just like a greedy little squirrel!" Lotta couldn't help laughing, and even some potato chip crumbs were stuck to the corners of her mouth, but she didn't notice it at all.
Lei couldn't help laughing after hearing this and agreed with a smile, "That's right, that's right. And Lele, too. He hugged his beloved teddy bear tightly during his nap. That look was simply adorable!"
We gathered on the sofa in the living room, a variety of delicious snacks spread out before us. As we devoured the treats, we happily shared stories about the day's fun with the children. Laughter echoed throughout the room, filling it with a warm and joyful atmosphere.
Just then, a slight noise suddenly erupted from the direction of the bedroom. Though quiet, it instantly shattered the relaxed and cheerful atmosphere. The three of us immediately became alert. After a glance at each other, Lotta cautiously stood up and tiptoed toward the bedroom door. She gently pressed her ear to the door, listening intently. After a moment, she turned and smiled at us, indicating that there was no danger. It turned out that Ken had simply been talking in his sleep.
After learning the truth, we couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief, our tense nerves relaxing. Then, everyone returned to their seats and immersed themselves in the joyful moment again. We continued to chat and laugh, sharing all sorts of interesting stories and experiences in each other's lives.
After sitting down again, I excitedly suggested: "Since we are so happy, why not plan some future activities in the kindergarten now." Lei's eyes lit up: "Good idea, I have always wanted to take the children out for a walk." Lotta also applauded.
After some discussion, we decided to take the kids on a fun-filled trip back home. Our first stop would be Snow Planet, the nation's capital and a technologically advanced planet.
We then began to carefully plan our trip, from what to pack to what to teach the children along the way. Lei said, "We need to bring enough medicine just in case." Lotta was busy researching specific places on Snow Star suitable for children to visit.
Just as we were bustling with activity, Ken emerged from the bedroom, rubbing his sleepy eyes. Seeing our lively gathering, he curiously asked, "What are you doing?" We shared our plans, and he instantly perked up, exclaiming, "Great! I'm going to go see mechas and even smarter robots with the kids!" Everyone burst into laughter at his innocent expression, and the room was filled with anticipation for the journey ahead. Time slipped by, and before we knew it, sleepiness began to creep in like a tide. Yet, we couldn't bear to see this wonderful time together end, forcing ourselves to persevere...
When all the discussions were concluded, I gently stood up and slowly left the cozy family room. With light steps, I walked through the corridor and finally returned to my personal private space - my room.
The family room is fully equipped, especially the advanced smart home system, which means I don't have to worry too much about the children's safety. Even if they need to get up to use the bathroom in the middle of the night, the system can take care of each child meticulously.
Yet, even though I was now nestled in my soft, comfortable bed, I couldn't drift off to sweet sleep. My thoughts were like a wild horse, galloping and leaping. The overwhelming enthusiasm everyone had displayed while planning the trip just now flashed through my mind like a scene from a movie. The thought of it brought a surge of warmth to my heart, and a deep sense of anticipation filled my heart.
Yet, amidst this overflowing joy and anticipation, a faint lingering worry crept into my heart like a ghost. While our intelligent systems are incredibly advanced and sophisticated, the world outside is vast, unpredictable, and filled with countless unknowns. What if, on our upcoming journey to another planet, we were unlucky enough to encounter vicious interstellar pirates? Or what if the children, unaccustomed to their new environment, developed symptoms of acclimatization and fell ill? The limited medicine we had on board was simply not enough to handle such an emergency. What then?
After tossing and turning in bed for a long time, I finally decided to carefully check whether all the preparations for this trip were in place. So I got up from the bed quietly, trying not to make any noise, and walked towards the family room.
After I identified the pupil, the door unlocked. As I slowly and gently pushed it open, a faint light streamed through the crack, instantly illuminating the ground beneath my feet. However, what surprised me even more was that when the door was fully opened, the scene that greeted me gave me a slight start.
Inside the room, Lei sat quietly, like a beautiful, focused statue. She sat upright at the living room table, staring intently at the softly glowing computer screen before her. The data and images displayed on the screen constantly changed, clearly providing detailed information on Snow Planet's weather conditions for the coming week.
Perhaps it was my opening of the door that disturbed the tranquility, or perhaps it was Lei's inherently keen senses. Regardless, the moment I entered, she quickly raised her head, as if on cue, and cast her gaze towards the door. As her clear, watery eyes met mine, a hint of surprise crept across her face. Then, her previously tense lips curved upwards, a smile as warm and gentle as a spring breeze.
At that moment, time seemed to freeze, and the only thing left in the world was the two of us staring at each other. Her eyes were like the depths of a lake, calm yet powerful, as if they could easily penetrate my soul and discern every hidden thought within. And under those eyes, I suddenly felt completely exposed, as if she already knew the true purpose of my visit.
"I always feel like we've missed something important," I said hesitantly, my voice remarkably clear in the silence of the room. Lei nodded in agreement, then whispered, "Yes, I feel the same way. This matter concerns those lovely children, after all, and we can't afford to be careless."
