Chapter 881 The 5th Gem

Chapter 881 The 5th Gem

The good news is that chaotic energy does indeed have a significant restraining effect on this black mist. However, bad news followed one after another—after successfully eliminating four strands of black mist, Baal summoned six more out of thin air! This was truly unexpected!

Faced with such a thorny situation, Yun couldn't help but feel a surge of pressure. He wasn't afraid to use other methods to consume the black mist, but he was truly unsure about using chaotic energy. After all, no one had yet been able to truly explain what chaotic energy was all about.

However, the situation was dire, and Yun couldn't afford to worry about anything else. He knew that if he couldn't end this battle before he was completely exhausted, the consequences would be unimaginable. Moreover, he still had Gao Shalak as his trump card as a last resort, so he absolutely could not afford to lose this battle!

With this determination, Yun became even bolder. Without hesitation, he blasted six streams of chaotic energy directly at the six black mists. With a series of loud crackling sounds, the six black mists were instantly shattered, turning into wisps of black smoke and dissipating into the air.

Immediately, Yun didn't stop his attack. He released an additional stream of chaotic energy, which, like a bolt of lightning, pierced straight into Baal's already bloodied back. Watching this chaotic energy enter Baal's body as if it were nothing, Yun secretly rejoiced: "This should be fine now!"

He secretly speculated that the chaotic energy might have some kind of restraining effect on Baal. After all, even he himself hadn't fully understood this mysterious energy, so how could Baal easily resist it? Presumably, once this chaotic energy was injected into Baal's body, it would definitely have some effect on him.

However, Baal's condition greatly surprised Yun. After all, it had been injected with chaotic energy! Normally, it should have experienced some adverse reactions such as discomfort or pain. But in reality, after a noticeable pause, Baal showed absolutely no reaction. Not only did it stop attacking, but even the trembling it had felt when it was injured vanished, as if time itself had stopped at that moment.

Yun immediately sensed something was wrong. Without hesitation, he jumped back, keeping a safe distance from Baal. "Lishwim, what have you done?" Yun shouted anxiously.

“I didn’t do anything,” Lishwim replied, but a hint of smugness was clearly in his tone.

Seeing this, Yun felt increasingly uneasy. He stared at Balna's strange state and recalled Lishwim's smug voice, and instantly realized that he had probably unknowingly accomplished one of Lishwim's goals.

"Now that things have come to this, you can tell me your plans, right?" Yun had completely calmed down.

This is the boss of Act V! Adding to the previous four bosses, Yun couldn't help but think that Lishwim was likely performing some kind of ritual. If that's the case, now should be the time to get some information out of him.

“I didn’t have any plans. This is my first time here too. Everything is done according to your wishes.” Lishwim’s smugness grew even stronger.

"Oh? Can you tell me what you're doing? Collecting all five gems?" Yun asked suspiciously, wondering to himself if there was some unknown secret hidden behind it.

Lishwim nodded and explained, “Yes, it is indeed five gems, but these gems are not ordinary objects. They are all formed from intention and have no physical form. These demons are actually just an external manifestation of the gems' energy. However, what is unexpected is that when your special energy attacks these demons, this originally ethereal intentional energy can actually condense into gems! This is truly unheard of!”

Yun stared wide-eyed, his face filled with astonishment. He simply couldn't comprehend this incomprehensible phenomenon. He couldn't help but ask, "You didn't know?" He had originally thought that Rishwim must have had a clear purpose and plan for going to such lengths to do these things, but now it seemed that even Rishwim himself was puzzled by this outcome.

"Why did you go to all this trouble? You should have told me earlier. Anyway, we had nothing else to do, so we could have studied it together." Yun said, somewhat speechless. He really couldn't understand why Rishwim would do these things behind his back.

3. Lishwim looked at Yun with suspicion and said, "You? Can I trust you? You said you wouldn't come in, but you still sneaked in."

Yun immediately felt wronged and quickly explained, "I... I really didn't want to come in. I wanted to go through the dimensional portal, but I don't know how I got here. This is definitely not my own idea."

Lishwim didn't seem to believe Yun's explanation. He sneered and said, "Hmph, who knows if what you're saying is true or false."

However, Lishwim didn't dwell on this topic. He quickly changed the subject and continued, "What I didn't expect was that you were able to condense these evil energies into gems. There were rumors that these gems had some special power, especially when all five were collected, they could unlock the dark mysteries of this place. So, I came here today to see if this legend is true."

Upon hearing this, Yun felt a sense of doubt arise in his heart. He pressed on, "Didn't you say before that this place was created by your god? Do these gems have the same effect as the gems you had before?"

Yun asked this question because he knew a principle: if any replica could have the same effect as the original, it would mean that the original item was not unique, and its effects would probably not be as powerful as the legends suggested.

In response to Yun's question, Lishwim thought for a moment and then explained, "To be honest, I don't know either. Logically speaking, these demons shouldn't be here. You see, they possess a special kind of energy, and this kind of energy can't be formed to such a high degree anywhere else except in gems. So, the sudden appearance of these demons is really strange."

"Hmm?" Yun's doubts deepened upon hearing this. According to Lishwim, these bosses were clearly inextricably linked to the gems; without the gems, these bosses couldn't even manifest themselves. This made things much simpler—these gems did indeed exist, and they were undeniably real.

Yun couldn't help but ponder to himself, what secret could be hidden within this? Just as he was thinking, Lishwim suddenly exclaimed excitedly, "You discovered it too?"

Yun looked bewildered; he really didn't understand what Lishwim meant by "discovery." So, somewhat reluctantly, he replied, "I didn't discover anything."

Lishwim didn't seem to care about Yun's answer. He said excitedly, "Well, if you didn't find it, you didn't find it. Let's see what happens together."

"So you're not coming out? You're just hiding there? And how did you know there was a small hole here? You even said you'd never been here before, how could you find such a hidden place?" Yun's tone revealed a hint of disbelief and a touch of annoyance.

Lishwim remained hidden in the small hole, unmoved by Yun's questioning. Yun thought to herself, since she had shrunk, perhaps she could try to squeeze into that hole and see if she could, or simply cast a spell inside to drive Lishwim out.

However, as Yun approached the small hole, he realized that his idea was completely unworkable. The opening was far too small; even in his shrunken state, he couldn't possibly squeeze in. Moreover, looking into the hole, it seemed quite deep, and even throwing a spell inside might not hit Lishwim.

“Of course I won’t go out. It’s too dangerous outside. Those demons are beyond my ability to handle, and with someone as unpredictable as you, I dare not go out.” Lishwim’s voice came from inside the cave, clearly unmoved by Yun’s provocation.

Yun was speechless after hearing Lishwim's words. He hadn't expected this guy to be so cowardly, not even daring to try.

"Plop, plop." Just as Yun was feeling helpless, he suddenly heard a soft sound. He turned his head and saw that Baal was still lying quietly on the ground, without making any movement.

Yun thought to himself, he couldn't let Baal continue to mutate quietly like this. So, without hesitation, he picked up two Soul Drainers and hurled them at Baal's body from a great distance with all his might.

Two daggers flew rapidly through the air, finally piercing Baal's body with perfect accuracy. With two soft "thuds," the daggers embedded themselves deeply in Baal's flesh, leaving two still-bleeding holes.

Looking at Baal, who remained completely unresponsive, Yun felt utterly speechless. He had no idea whether his attack could harm Baal, as he couldn't accurately judge the situation without the system's assistance. This feeling left Yun feeling utterly helpless, as if everything was spiraling out of control.

Yun reluctantly opened his backpack to check if there were any other usable weapons inside. If these weapons weren't very useful, he planned to just throw them at Baal and see if he could kill him. However, when he saw the items in his backpack, his heart sank.

Because of the system malfunction last time, the backpack became unusable, and many of the items she had accumulated were gone. At the time, Yun thought most of these items were useless, so she didn't pay much attention. But now it seems that many of them were actually very useful.

However, when Yun's gaze fell upon the Wrath Set in his backpack, a glimmer of hope welled up within him. Although he had few weapons left, he still had plenty of armor. After all, Yun had prepared some spare equipment when facing both Sindi Yalai and Aron.

Yun hesitated for a moment, but ultimately decided to give it a try. Somewhat awkwardly, he took an Angry Helmet from his backpack and threw it at Baal. The helmet spun rapidly through the air, its gleaming spikes flashing coldly in the sunlight.

With a soft "thud," the Helmet of Angry pierced Baal's body with perfect accuracy. Because the back of the helmet was quite large, it remained firmly embedded in Baal's body, looking rather comical.

At this critical moment, Yun couldn't care less about anything else. He quickly opened his backpack and found that there were still quite a few things inside. Without hesitation, he threw them one by one at Baal.

These objects flew through the air; some were weapons, some were armor, and some were strange gadgets. They rained down on Baal, making crisp, clattering sounds.

Before long, Baal's body was covered by the Helmet of Wrath and the Shoulder Armor of Wrath, making his already ferocious appearance even more bizarre and terrifying. This scene was astonishing, and the atmosphere instantly became eerie.

Fortunately, Lishwim didn't laugh at Cloud's actions, otherwise Cloud would probably have been mortified. However, despite the somewhat comical scene, the effect of this behavior was quite remarkable.

Baal's body began to bleed profusely, blood gushing from its countless wounds like a fountain, staining the ground red and forming horrifying pools of blood. Moreover, this black blood continued to overflow from Baal's wounds, as if it would never run out.

Although Yun was unsure whether this would actually cause any real harm to Baal, at least at the current rate of bleeding, even if Baal didn't die from excessive blood loss, he would become increasingly weak due to the continuous loss of energy.

Yun thought to himself, "Whether it's bleeding or losing energy, it's a way to weaken it. I refuse to believe that this won't do anything to it!"

Just as Yun was secretly pleased with himself, something unexpected happened—Baal's body suddenly collapsed to the ground, as if all the bones had been removed! This sudden change shocked Yun, and he hurriedly looked closely, trying to figure out what had happened.

As Yun nervously observed Baal's body, he was surprised to find a strange protrusion on Baal's previously shriveled head. A thought flashed through Yun's mind: that must be the gem! The gem Lishwim had been dreaming of, the last of the five gems! Obtaining this gem would undoubtedly be a huge threat to Lishwim.

Thinking of this, Yun immediately rushed towards Baal's corpse like an arrow released from a bow. At the same time, he glimpsed a small golden ball that was also rushing towards Baal's corpse at an astonishing speed.

Yun was already furious with Lishwim. Without a doubt, the golden ball must be Lishwim. Yun picked up Ashbringer and slashed at it.
